The Roseneath Carousel

The
Roseneath Carousel – Located at the Roseneath Fairgrounds - it is a Parker/Herschell
Spillman, built in 1906, with 3 rows, and 40 jumpers. This carousel features a
working band organ (Wurlitzer 125), and 2 boats with rocking action. Ontario
Heritage Foundation designated the Roseneath Carousel a National Historic
Landmark & it was entered into the National Register of Historic Places in
1990. Directions:
Hwy 401 to Division
St-Exit at Cobourg. North on Hwy 45 to Roseneath Fairgrounds. Box
66, Roseneath, ONT KOK 2X0; 905-352-2288 Open May-Sept only on certain days,
mainly Sundays from 2-4 including Roseneath Fair.
It is a really good idea to call ahead to prevent disappointment, but if
you arrive on a hot, sunny Summer day, there is a snack stand where you can grab
an ice cream cone for a dollar! It
cost more to ride the carousel – about $2.00 a ride.
